Instead of resting on its laurels, Video Comparer has made some really obvious improvements in how well it works, and that makes it much better than when I first bought it. It starts quicker, seems really stable, processes much faster, and finds more valid results. The most recent edition, even though it is a fractional version, is a HUGE improvement. I think it has been one of the most useful utilities I've ever owned. It wasn't perfect when I first started using it a few years ago, but it DID work and work well. A very straight forward task, one would think, except that I have a huge collection of files, and most utilities I tried just locked up or took forever to churn through folders. I sprang for the Pro Edition because I needed a way to compare different versions of videos. Mostly because even useful utilities are only OK, not great.
